Moodle will be upgraded to version 2.7 this coming Tuesday, September 23, 2014. It is important that everyone backup their courses to ensure all of your current content is properly saved. Please note that this upgrade is necessary in order for Moodle to function properly on mobile devices, as well as update basic features, add layered security, and add additional instructional and administrative features.

It is also important to note that some of the very old “assignment content” that was created years ago when our Division first adopted Moodle as its virtual course management system will no longer function in the updated version. Several thousand assignments have already been successfully updated during this program upgrade in hopes of retaining as many functioning “assignments” as possible. Still, there will be some files that may have been corrupted over the years, which will not function in this new version.

These assignments will have to be redone in the new 2.7 assignment module. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and stand ready to assist in whatever way we can should you discover this may have happened with your course. This is why we encourage you to please make sure you back up your content from you course in order to preserve its’ essence and therefore be able to update it to the latest Moodle version if necessary.
